My lack of skills be damned I can play the second level :D

  2. Ty Dunitz says:

Hey, I can see Wavey McPurplebeat now. ‘Sup, Wavey?

  3. Wavey McPurplebeat says:

You know, just wavin’ an’ shit.

  4. Does it fix the two(+)-player bug on how the trajectory of the Pong/Arkanoid bosses calculates when hit by players other than player 1?

And nice to hear that the bit color changed on that one type.

  5. Ben says:

Mind explaining what difference this will make to someone who already mastered (not perfected, obvi) all three levels? More vibrant colours for the hard to see ones I suppose is a plus, though I thought they were hard to see to add challenge.

  6. Phil says:

im pretty sure you changed a part of the first level. when there are 2 lines of the blue beats they usually come at you all at the same time, but now the back ones slow down to change the song,

I noticed the brightness of the purple beats have definately changed, i know this is for the better but im not absolutely sure i like it all that much.

Also did you guys make the second boss easier. Note that i have never failed against this boss, but it seems like the brick breaker glitch seemed to be easier to do, even though i have no idea how to do it, i did it 3 times within 5 seconds of each other to nock out probably 20 of the bricks.

I love this game to death but why did you change that part in the first level?

  7. Alex Neuse says:

    Hey folks.

We didn’t address the 2+ player exploit for the level 2&3 bosses (primarily, because it’s a pretty cool pro strategy).

We changed the color of the wave beats, because on some televisions they were literally impossible to see.

We also changed the level unlocking feature so you no longer have to rank in to the high scores to save your progress through the game.

@Phil: I’m not sure about that level 1 pattern. I don’t think we changed it. If we did, I can’t remember exactly why. O_o

And there were some other issues that aren’t super interesting to chat about. The stuff above was the bulk of it.

  8. Secret_Tunnel says:

I’m going as Wavey McPurplebeat for Halloween next year.

  9. ohhhh im liking the color change on the wave things. the part with the flaming comet flying across the screen makes it almost impossible to see the notes, in fact i COULDN’T see the notes at all when i was playing on several HD tv’s

ill definatly have to update =] again, the level save thing is not a problem for me cuz i unlocked all 3 levels ages ago

  10. Ryan D. says:

Any chance of updating BIT.TRIP CORE to allow you to set the lag on your TV ala Rock Band? I can’t get past level 2 and it’s tough to tell if it’s the lag on my HDTV or if it’s just my lack of skill. (I’m planning to try and get my Wii onto a CRT TV to compare sometime soon.)

  11. Ben says:

    @ Ryan D.
I’ve frequently switched between CRTs and HD LCD and HD plasma TVs to play Core with no impact to how I play, if that helps.

  12. Indigo Getdown says:

    @ Alex,

Kudos for the update- I am digging the new wave beats in all their bright, violetish glory :)

Are you guys the first WiiWare developers to actually update a game after it’s been already been out? Just curious.

    @ Secret_tunnel

You should expand that idea and throw a Halloween party next year- come as your favorite beat!

    @Indigo Getdown

Konami recently released an update for Gradius ReBirth that added and modified some things (music and leaderboards, mostly). While the update was made available in Japan, I am not sure if the update is out in the US.

  14. Sytherantis says:

Noticed quite a few pattern changes on Transition. Near the end of Phase 6, the fast-moving diagonal-bouncing beats that used to fake you out act a lot different. ‘Tis a shame, I really had that part down!

Also, a lot of the fast-moving beats move much slower.

It might just be my imagination, but the paddle controls a lot more accurately now. And this also might just be my imagination, but on the Transition boss, it used to really bug me that the beats would start moving out of tune with the music near the end, and it seems that was addressed. It still happens, but it seems a lot better now somehow.

@ Indigo Getdown: Dr. Mario Online Rx updated quite a while ago. My Pokemon Ranch also updated to work with Pokemon Platinum, but not outside of Japan.
