How about some physical CDs? What with the retro awesomeness and all (CDs are retro now, right?).

  2. Ben says:

You guys have been busy!! This is all very exciting, but I’m afraid I won’t be picking up the soundtrack any time soon. Perhaps after I’ve successfully explored the VOID a few times and need something to whet my appetite in the wait for Bit.Trip DELOREANORWHATEVER (tentative title).

  3. Kunal says:

Awesome ! Just bought Transition. Waiting for CORE.

  4. Kunal says:

A suggestion if I may : Have longer tracks available. Essentially a recording of what one would hear (with all the user-generated sounds) if they got a perfect score.

  5. Nathan says:

I agree with brimtastic. An actual CD would be nice so I could listen to it in mah stereo or car. It’s not the same with teeny weeny headphones on.

  6. Alex Neuse says:

We’ve thought about doing a limited edition CD of the soundtrack, with special sauce and powerful jab jabs, but doing a general run of CDs is cost prohibitive on one hand, and on the other hand, we’re really into the digital distribution thing; hence digital only.

If we ever do a limited edition CD deal, it probably won’t be for a LONG time. We’d have to make sure that we can really turn it into something awesome and make it a project of its own.

Until then, you can buy it digitally and burn it to a CD if you want it in your car or whatnot. I’ve got a crazy little iTrip that I use with my iPod in my car. It’s pretty rad.

  7. Il Giuda says:

well, what Alex says fits perfectly in the think-green he posted months ago. So it’s not only a good thing for us (less costs for creating cds, distribution etc that become lower price for us) but less energy used, less packaging, less gasoline, less carbon dioxide…
It’s a good thing ever for non-USA players/customers that arguably will never see a ost-cd in their game-shop (and then buy it on internet with high shipping cost and so..).
The idea of a real cd is nice if (sort of) home-made or anyway limited that can easily become the prize of a contest, like they already made for the posters *_*
It’s funny try to obtain a rare (if not unique) BIT.TRIP-gadget than to buy it!

  8. Zak says:

Alex: So you guys consider releasing a Soundtrack-CD in the future for the BIT.TRIP-Games? 20mins is failry short, shoud we except something in the next few years?

  9. Alex Neuse says:

At this point, the only thing that I think I can safely say that you should expect is more digitally released soundtracks for each game in the series. Anything beyond that is just dreams and “what-ifs” at the moment.

I wouldn’t be surprised if we ever only release these digitally.

  10. Frikin Sweet!

i have a $15 itunes card that i got like 5 years ago that i still haven’t used so ill use it once these songs hit itunes =D

  11. jonfin826 says:

Maybe once all the games are done they can make a CD of Beat, Core, and Void, and a CD of BT4, BT5, and BT6.

    Bit. Trip Soundtrack: Volume 1

    Bit. Trip Soundtrack: Volume 2

  12. Mystic_Kirby says:

    Yes.
Now I just need an iPod. D:

@jonfin826: Or just make a huge compilation on iTunes.

Kunal says: “A suggestion if I may : Have longer tracks available. Essentially a recording of what one would hear (with all the user-generated sounds) if they got a perfect score.”
Agreed. I’m pretty sad that “Descent”, my favourite level and bg music, is so short too.

  14. Tabulator_AT says:

i also would prefer the “real” soundtrac with all the sounds of a perfect playthrough. cause thats the music everybody is so fond of.. the background music is good as well - no question, but i’d like to have the whole music on a soundtrack, especually when it’s an official one…
i wouldn’t mind paying even more for it…

maybe there’ll come the days when there’s a “director’s cut” soundtrack of bittrip beat and core… i’d definatly buy them both!
