    Holy –

  3. So far I’m over two phases through in terms of successfully getting perfect on Exploration, 4 phases in terms of knowing what to press. I still have tons of trouble with the second challenge and knowing when the fake-out spirals are hitting. I’ll learn it eventually. If it wasn’t so far in, I’d be able to mess around with that challenge more though. >.< I tried UUUUDDDDUUUUDDDD and I still get 2 extra that I can’t hit. Any hints?

  4. Aha, so it’s the DLRDURLU pattern, I just don’t know what the starting block is. Hmms. In any case, almost have Boss 2 down to where I don’t miss anything, which is a relief. :3

I sent yall an e-mail asking how to donate.

And one more thing, for the name up there, use http://tobias.kemonoart.org/ since that’s where the photos and stuff are. I haven’t managed the gallery page I host in quite a while, and it does have mature content, so as a news entry, I feel kinda odd having it linked.

  5. Phase 1: Perfect
    Phase 2: Perfect
    Phase 3: Perfect
    Phase 4: 1 Miss
    Phase 5: 1 Miss
    Phase 6: 1 Miss
    Phase 7: Perfect
    Phase 8: 1 Miss

    Final Score - 34.8 Million

My thumbs are sore, I’m going to bed. :)

K, the link is changed, sorry bout that! Man, you are p0wning CORE! Since you are so technical about this endeavor, how about making a strategy video???

  7. Maybe I’ll head to Fry’s and pick up a Capture card…

  8. This may be tougher than I thought. The USB one (cheapest thing there) gives me sound lag, block duplication, and makes it unplayable. If I had a way to split it to both the TV and the computer, maybe, but I’m at a loss. I’m not one of those LetsPlay folks unfortunately. Heh. Maybe my camera can do a sufficient job after all.

  9. Alex Neuse says:

Holy crap! That is awesome! Congratulations! You are the absolute FIRST Perfect confirmation from ANY BIT.TRIP game. Hats off to YOU, Tobias! This is what we use to do our video capture at work. With the Wii S-Video is the best you’re going to get without spending grillions of dollars on a high-end capture station. ROCK ON!

  10. I did get the feeling that I’d need to use S-Video to manage a decent stream without blurred blocks. Maybe I should just pull out the good old standby of VCR and then upload it after using that *laughs* I’ll figure something out eventually, since it’s something I’ve wanted to do.

As for Perfect on Level 2, I -basically- have it, but I keep getting shafted on the nova-blocks of Phase 4. R U U L D D L U R (second nova block) and there is where I supposedly miss one. But as far as I know, the nova block is doing its job properly over on the right! Time for Mr. Record Button so I can rewatch what it does. I’ve managed it with that SAME pattern before w/o breaking my chain, so I’m not sure what the trick is offhand. :|

Oh and here’s an odd bug that slipped by for BEAT - When playing with two or more paddles facing the second and third bosses, the angle of trajectory is calculated by P1’s paddle always, regardless of who hits it. So you have P1 at the top and P2 at the bottom, and have P2 hit it, the thing goes absolutely crazy and covers the entire field.

The main reason I never got perfect in L1 of BEAT was the sets of 3 pink blocks a fair ways in. I never could hit those without missing atleast one. :< Maybe if I did what that German guy did (using only 2 Wiimotes) I could stand a chance :P

  11. *Wishes there was an edit feature*

63.7 million (L2) is the best I can do right now. I keep getting sniped by that one spot in Phase 4, and if not there, then always some other random spot before hand. I have most of the remaining part down too, with only sweat-induced screwups messing with me there.

I see what the problem -is- for the Phase4 spot; the nova block doesn’t QUITE last as long as it needs to if you hit it at the earliest spot, and one yellow brick sneaks by. So I have to delay my hit past even the center of the beam, which when I DO manage to hit it like that, I fail at the rest of the timing of that pattern.

Amazing game guys. :3 Keeps an autistic perfectionist like me quite busy XD

  12. GenisSage says:

Congratulations! That’s a feat I’ll never accomplish, I think. I’m not particularly good at the games themselves, I just like playing them, and thinking about the plot. Seriously, though, this is amazing! Good luck on your future perfect endeavors, as well!

  13. 92,439,252 … Sigh. I literally missed only 1 (beginningish of Phase 4), and it was in a REALLY stupid place to miss. But I kept going for practice and then I managed full perfect after that. Oh well, time for another break (even though I was just getting back into the swing of things)
