Any ideas as to who this guy playing BIT.TRIP BEAT is?

If you guessed that this was the man behind the brown box–the box that started it all–you get 10 bonus stars.

The good folks at Fire Hose Games had Ralph Baer visit their studio, where they nabbed these great pics for us. Thanks guys! And thanks to you, Ralph. You are an inspiration to be sure. In fact, I am freaking out right now.
Continue rocking on. Over and out.

Uh, is he holding his controller upside down?
Good eyes, Roto! Yeah, apparently Mr. Baer likes the inverted Y-axis.
Wow.
that’s awesome! I saw his presentation at GDC last year. We all owe him.
@Roto13
that’s how you play the game. You twist the wiimote like a pong paddle
wow, touched by a legend! any word on how much he digs the game?
Apparently he liked the game just fine. He said that fact was interesting since most modern games he doesn’t really care for. Pretty rad.
@ takes
I think you need to take a closer look at that picture.
@ Roto
takes said that you twist the wii mote (just like in the cow racing game in wiiplay) I don’t know wether this is true but if I look at the other pictures he might becorrect
Holding the controller reversed is the “Backbeat Style” control, its the easiest way to play and unlock the levels.
@ frry
To control the game, you hold the Wii Remote sideways and twist it forward and backward. This control scheme works very well especially since there aren’t spinner controllers anymore.
Also, if you hold it like an NES controller, the Y-axis is not flipped, but if you hold it backwards (like Ralph is), the Y-axis is flipped. So the option is there for people who prefer an inverted Y-axis.
The inverting feature is SO hidden, that it’s not even an option selectable in game!
But it is there..
Why select options in game when you can select them in real life… YEAH!
Make the experience that much more immersive.
It’s like living in THE FUTURE!
I wonder if he was like “This exactly was I was trying to do back in the day, but the technology wasn’t there”
@ Dani
Nope, he was more saying “Pretty cool, where are my royalties?”
Ralph enjoyed the game a lot, he thought it was a fun take on his old stuff. Higher praise there isn’t!
Yay! Me get ten golden stars!! !
Did anyone notice that the meteor in the first picture’s flame trail is more realistically fiery?
