¡Voy a Madrid!

Monday, July 12th, 2010

That’s right!  Tomorrow I wake up insanely early to catch a flight outta here!

ideame

I’ll be speaking at the iDÉAME event at The Complutense University of Madrid where they have a Masters program in Video Game Development!

Being that I am a self-proclaimed master of video game development, it seems appropriate, I must say.

Also, I don’t speak Spanish, so I’m hoping that there’s a translator on hand.  Here’s the schedule, translated by Google Translate.  Of particular note is the last item on the agenda…

I guess I’ll see you all on the flip side.

Hey Mom! We’re Famous!

Friday, July 2nd, 2010

Moms of Gaijin Games staff around the world can finally weep tears of joy that their babes have made it on the front page!

The punchline is that we did it by MAKING VIDEO GAMES!

sentinelz

Luckily, our mothers were content to let us ruin our eyes by sitting too close to the television while playing Metroid in the basement–otherwise, none of this would be possible!

It’s funny, because while our escapades have been reported all over the Internutz, there must be something about being in a newspaper that gets people all riled up.

Thanks for all the well-wishing, moms!  It is our soul goal in life to make you proud of us.

For those of you not in arm’s reach of a Santa Cruz Sentinel, you can read the article online here.  Why, our good friend Edmund McMillen even got in on the action!

Massive Amounts of Fanart

Saturday, June 5th, 2010

Oh yeah!

I’ve FINALLY updated the fanart page to accommodate the 150+ graffiti art submissions for BIT.TRIP RUNNER.  Go check it out!

I apologize if I omitted anyone's submission. It was tough to keep track of it all! :)

I apologize if I omitted anyone's submission. It was tough to keep track of it all! :)

Also, those of you who have sent us screenshots of your perfect achievements in BIT.TRIP RUNNER, don’t fret, we’re going to get them up on the perfects page soon.

Gary Morin's ultimate TRIUMPH!

Gary Morin's ultimate TRIUMPH!

We will only be posting proofs of entirely perfected levels.  Since there are so many challenges, posting images of each and every one of those would just get downright silly.

And if there’s one thing we DO NOT tolerate at Gaijin Games, it’s silliness.

Enjoy the graffiti images and keep the fanart coming!  Also, if you enjoy being a deviant, check out the collection of BIT.TRIP art over at deviantart.com.

Consider us Humbled

Friday, May 21st, 2010

Out of curiosity, I meandered over to Metacritic a moment ago to check on BIT.TRIP RUNNER’s status…

Universal Acclaim

Wow, folks.

Seeing this completely made my night.  It’s been our dream to develop products that make people happy, and we’re completely humbled by everyone’s praise.  We only hope that we can continue to live up to the standard we’ve managed to set so far.

I don’t really expect this Metacritic rating of 90 to last forever (hence the screengrab), but for the time being, we’re thrilled that people are enjoying BIT.TRIP RUNNER (and the rest of the BIT.TRIP series) as much as we are.

We want you to know that we are committed to making games from our hearts and that as we conclude this series, we are looking toward the future with an eye towards continuing this tradition of unique and interesting products.

We hope that you continue with us on our journey, because we can’t do it alone.  Today, I truly feel like you are all part of our team.

Make Your Walls FASTER!

Wednesday, May 19th, 2010

I don’t even know if I should post this.

I’m not sure you’re ready for this kind of awesomeness.

What the heck.  LET’S LIVE LIFE ON THE EDGE!

Wall Graphics!

Amazing wall decor!

That’s right.  The good folks over at LTL PRINTS have just launched a premium wall graphics store to coincide with the life-changing BIT.TRIP RUNNER launch this week!

There are several BIT.TRIP themed prints to choose from, and they range in size from laptop-sized to 7 foot tall behemoths!  How can you even consider your life being complete without owning several of these!?

We’re going to be adding more prints to the store as time goes on, so keep your eyes peeled.  Also, once we get our wall prints up in the office, we’ll snap some pics and post them to our Official BIT.TRIP Facebook Page for everyone to see!

In the meantime, check out this revealing interview with yours truly on the LTL Blog!

During the star-studded award ceremony, Ninja F was quoted as saying:
