So, I made it back from the Nintendo of Europe Media Summit no worse for wear–except for a completely dorked-up sense of time and space. I definitely feel freaky. Here are some pics from the show, where BIT.TRIP VOID was named “game of the show” by at least one European journalist.

This is the dedicated BIT.TRIP VOID kiosk that I called my home for about 10 hours of demos yesterday. The dude on the right (I apologize, I forgot your name! Shoot me an email!) kicked out a killer performance of double-play (one person controlling 2 characters at once) with VOID. He managed to make it to the second checkpoint in the first level before challenging me to beat his double-play score. I rose to the challenge. But then fell short. He beat me out by about 10,000 points. Good times.

There was a ton of press at the event–all of them super nice and fun. Holy crap, I did two video interviews in German. I can’t wait to see how much I dominated them once they go live. Also, industry pals and cohorts from Team Meat and Nicalis threw some very last-minute final touches into Super Meat Boy. Talk about agile development. This was ninjatacular.

After the event, I went to a swanky din-din with a bunch of developers and folks from Nintendo, which was a lot of fun. But to get there, we had to ride in the elevator with no buttons. Afterward, I came back to My Hotel and tripped on the invisible step in the middle of the room.
All in all, it was a great event and I had a lot of fun showing off our game to a ton of press that as an American I don’t usually have access to.
Thanks to all the press that came and to Nintendo for hosting this event. I’d love to do it again in the future! Only next time, I need to stay in London longer. There’s a crazy ferris wheel that makes you want to puke just looking at it. I’ve got to ride that thing.
Continue rocking on. Over and out.
